Meet the team.png

Tell me about yourself and why you joined LEND.

I'm currently a second-year, majoring in Economics, Mathematics, and MMSS, with a minor in Data Science. I'm particularly interested in the intersection of microeconomic theory and real-world application – so the recent Nobel to Paul Milgrom and Rob Wilson for exactly that really excited me! I joined LEND because I think it provides an interesting and unique opportunity to apply the tools present in economic theory to real-world issues and to leave a positive impact in the community.

What is your role in LEND and who have you worked with?

I'm a junior account manager, so I assist the senior account managers with their accounts and consulting projects. I'm currently working on a case study for retail markets with a focus on Assembly Creator Markets, an exciting boutique store that offers small goods, services, and classes in a wide range of skills.

What are you most excited to work on as a member of LEND's team?

I'm super excited to do consulting, particularly looking into strategy and pricing. I think that those areas are those that I can make the biggest impact, and which are heavily rooted in methods in game theory and mechanism design under uncertainty and asymmetric information, two of my research interests.

Do you have any experience working in small businesses in your hometown?

Looking Glass Pet Shop! I love keeping fish and pets in general, and Looking Glass has always had high-quality, beautiful fish, and supplies right when I need it (and it's close to a sushi place my friends and I love).

Do you have any favorite small business in Evanston? If you're not that familiar with small businesses, what is one you're looking forward to?

Not too much - aside from working as an employee for a few local corporations (an SAT tutoring company and debate coaching organization). I'm looking forward to gaining experience in the world of consulting with LEND, though!

How do you spend your free time?

I like reading books, both academic and nonacademic. I'm currently reading A History of Mathematics by Carl Boyer, and Orson Scott Card's Ender Saga. I also enjoy cuddling with my cats and tending to my various different fish tanks.
